The storied history of these games dates back to the late aughts, when a group of future nursing professionals met at university and gathered to celebrate the holiday season. The Nursing Girls Potluck was the highlight of the night on which it was celebrated. While the nights would usually end in blackouts and 1 for 1 pizza, the beginning of the events were joyous occasions, where gifts would be exchanged, and dinner shared (student potluck style, with lots of Sidekicks). The tradition continued once the girls began their careers, and after they had all found their Prince Charmings, their lovely potluck tradition was coopted to become the high-stakes competition we have come to know as… the Christnurse Cup. The name was born out of a respect for the original origins of the celebration, as well as a reminder of the reason for the season, the birth of our lord and saviour, J.H.C.
